short video and descriptions

"Study nature, love nature, stay close to nature

It will never fail you."

Everything we see around us constitutes nature, including the sun, the moon, trees, flowers, fruits, human beings, birds, animals, etc. In nature, everyone depends on one another to keep the ecosystem healthy. For survival, every creature is interrelated and reliant on one another. Humans, for example, rely on nature for their survival, and nature provides us with oxygen, food, water, shelter, medicines, and clothing, among other things. Many shades may be seen in nature, contributing to the planet’s beauty. Along with humans, animals and birds also find their habitat and means of survival in nature. Therefore, it is essential to take proper care of our nature to maintain a healthy life.

The first light of the day is when the sun rises, and its rays start to illuminate the world. This time is often associated with a sense of renewal and positivity. The sunlight in the morning is softer and can have a golden hue, creating beautiful scenes and a warm feeling. "Morning, sunshine!” is a cheerful and affectionate way to greet someone in the morning. It’s often used to bring a smile to someone’s face and start the day on a positive note. It gently awakens the world casting soft shadows and highlighting the dew on leaves. Birds' songs and fresh air fill with the promise of a new day. It is a perfect movement to appreciate the beauty around us.

"Photography is all about secrets. Secret we all have and will never tell."

"Photography is one of the art. Photo capturing is the art and science of the world." A different person's eye area is different, and perception has different impacts on our lives, and the artistry behind capturing those captivating images that leave a lasting impression.

This picture I took in my hometown in Nuwara Eliya. My village is near a tea plantation. I took a photo in the morning. If I take this photo as a reason, The beauty of a tea plantation with a confluence of valleys is surrounded by weather.

This picture I took in my hometown in Nuwara Eliya. My village is near a tea plantation. I took a photo in the morning. If I take this photo as a reason, the beauty of the surrounding environment at that time and the feeling of being in my village from the surroundings is the beauty of the green environment.

This picture, I took near my boarding place in Trincomalee.  The reason I like this place is the quietness of the surrounding environment and the sound of birds soothes the heart. The villagers said that because                               of the beauty of this environment, it acts as a backdrop for photoshoots.

This picture I took to go to the University of Peradeniya. The picture at the Sarachchandra open-air theatre at Peradeniya University. Sarachchandra Open-Air Theatre (සරච්චන්ද්‍ර එළිමහන් රංග පීඨය) is a theatre located in the University of Peradeniya, about one kilometer from the Galaha junction in Galaha-Peradeniya Road. It is popularly known as the Wala, among university students and drama enthusiasts. Theatre is named in memory of Prof. Ediriweera Sarachchandra, a notable Sri      Lankan playwright. Built in the early 1950s, it is considered to be the only theatre of its kind in Sri Lanka and was constructed according to the architectural style of ancient Greek theatres.

This picture I took too went in Temple of the Tooth. Sinhala said "Sri Dalada Maligawa", commonly known in English as the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic. It is a Buddhist temple in Kandy Sri Lanka. It is located in the Royal Place Complex of the former Kingdom of Kandy which houses the relic of the tooth of the Buddha. Since ancient times, the relic has played an important role in local politics because it is believed that whoever holds the relic holds the governance of the country. The relic was historically held by Sinhalese kings. The Temple of the Tooth is a World Heritage Site mainly due to the temple and the relic.

This picture, I took to go on the Hanthana mountain range trip.  Hanthana Mountain range is the most famous place in the Kandy. It is a cool place and more than included in a green environment and mountain ranges. The Hanthana Mountain Range lies in the central highlands of Sri Lanka, south-west of Kandy. It was declared as an environmental protection area in February 2010 under the National Environment Act. The maximum height of the range is 1,200 m (3,800 ft). The mountain range consists of seven peaks. The highest one is the Uura Kanda. The range is a favourite destination among mountain hikers in Sri Lanka. The University of Peradeniya is situated adjacent to the Hanthana mountain range.

I took this picture to go on the Hanthana mountain range trip. The image has the pine trees area at the top of the mountain. It is a cool place and more than includes a green environment and mountain ranges. I try to capture the sunshine in the middle. but I cannot capture this movement on my phone.

This picture I took in my hometown in Nuwara Eliya. It is a post office in Nuwara Eliya.
I took a photo in the morning. The Nuwara Eliya Post Office is located in the Centre of Nuwara Eliya and is one of the oldest post offices in Sri Lanka. The Tudor-style two-storey red-brick building with a clock spire was constructed in 1894 by the British. In 2012 the former living quarters of the postmaster, on the upper floor of the post office, were converted into tourist accommodation. On 26 December 1990, Sri Lanka Post issued Rs. 10 stamps with a photograph of the Post Office, to commemorate World Postal Day. In June 2017 the United Postal Trade Union went on a three-day strike to stop the government's plans to sell the Nuwara Eliya, Kandy and Galle Fort post offices to private developers, for the buildings to be converted into hotels.

This picture I took in my home. This picture is the flower of the kadupull flower. (කඩුපුල්)Kadupull flowers are among the most beautiful and fragile in the world. Kadupull flowers bloom only for one time of the year. they only bloom at night and wither away by morning, and their petals are so delicate that they cannot be touched without damaging them.

This picture I took this near the koneshwaram temple. We were gone in our free time there. most beautiful sea environments I have ever seen. In this picture, I capture my phone in the middle of the day.

production values

     Production values

What is the production value?

Production value is a term used to describe the overall quality of a film. It draws attention to what seems to be a large budget, and as such, gives viewers the impression that a film is expensive and not cheaply made.

  • It refers to the level of detail, sophistication, and technical excellence that can be seen on screen or heard in a recording.
  • They are the result of the combination of all elements of production that go into delivering a product.
  • Production values are based on criteria like set design, special effects, and costumes rather than the more creative and subjective criteria such as directing, acting, and writing.

What are the elements of production values?

  1. Locations
  2. Set design
  3. Props and furniture
  4. Lighting sources
  5. Costumes and wardrobe
  6. Hair and make-up
  7. Practical effects used on set.

1. Locations

The choice of filming locations can significantly impact the film’s visual appeal and authenticity. Real locations can add a sense of realism, while constructed sets can provide complete control over the environment.

For example, the use of real locations in films like “The Revenant” enhances the immersive experience.

2. Set Design

Set design involves creating and arranging the physical spaces where scenes are shot. This includes everything from the architecture of buildings to the smallest details in a room. A well-designed set can convey the time, location, and mood of the story.

For Examples, the intricate set design in “Blade Runner 2049” helps establish its futuristic world.

3. Props and Furniture

Props and furniture are items used by actors or placed in the background to enhance the realism of the scene. They can be as simple as a book or as complex as a custom-built vehicle. Props help to create a believable world and can also be symbolic, adding deeper meaning to the narrative1.

4. Lighting

Lighting is crucial for setting the mood and ensuring that scenes are visually clear. Different lighting techniques can create various atmospheres, from the harsh, high-contrast lighting in film noir to the soft, natural lighting in romantic dramas.

Examples-: The use of lighting in “Inception” to differentiate between dream levels is a notable example.

5. Costumes and Wardrobe

Costumes and wardrobes play a vital role in defining characters and the setting. They help to establish the period, social status, and personality of the characters.

For example, the elaborate costumes in “The Great Gatsby” reflect the opulence of the 1920s.

6. Hair and Make-up

Hair and make-up contribute to the appearance of characters, making them look appropriate for their roles. This can range from everyday looks to elaborate prosthetics for fantasy or sci-fi characters. The transformation of actors in films like “The Lord of the Rings” showcases the importance of hair and makeup.

7. Practical Effects

Practical effects are on-set effects like explosions, weather conditions, or other physical phenomena. These effects are created without the use of CGI and can add a tangible realism to the film. The use of practical effects in “Mad Max: Fury Road” is a prime example of how they can enhance the viewing experience.

8. Special Effects

Special effects, often added in post-production, include CGI, green-screen effects, and other digital enhancements. These effects can create scenes that would be impossible or too dangerous to film in real life. The groundbreaking special effects in “Avatar” revolutionized the use of CGI in film.

9. Sound Design

Sound design involves creating the auditory elements of a film, including dialogue, sound effects, and background music. Good sound design can enhance the atmosphere, emphasize actions, and convey emotions. The sound design in “Dunkirk” effectively builds tension and immerses the audience in the experience.

10. Cinematography

Cinematography is the art of capturing the visual elements of a film. This includes camera angles, movement, framing, and composition. The cinematography in “1917,” with its continuous shot technique, creates a sense of real-time immersion.

11. Music and Score

The music and score of a film can significantly impact its emotional tone. A well-composed score can heighten emotions, build tension, and enhance the storytelling. The iconic score of “Star Wars” by John Williams is a perfect example of how music can become an integral part of a film’s identity.

High production values typically indicate a higher budget and more resources, producing a polished and professional look. However, even films with lower budgets can achieve high production values by creatively using these elements. Understanding and effectively utilizing production values can greatly enhance the quality and impact of a film.
